LAYERED LIGHT

Light, porosity, and translucency are great starting points as inspiration for textiles. This project looked at creating a window covering for a classroom at Parsons School of Design that addressed color and pattern.

A set of three magnetically attached screens that can be easily installed and taken down from the window frames. I played with the gradation of color by layering organza silk, creating a collage with scenes from the outside to be part of the textile, by choosing the areas of transparency for light to pass through.
